Yesterday as I arrived to work I was greeted by the most amazing smell known to man: warm fresh biscuits. One of the many joys of working at a restaurant is that people who are drawn to this industry love food and are always trying to get better. One of our pastry chefs, Sara has been perfecting her biscuits since I arrived at the restaurant, but this day was special. She not just hit the bull's eye but blew it up. The moment I took my first bite I was done, an addiction that may never be broken was formed. These amazing expressions of dough were perfect. Each layer was moist, rich, flaky and melted in the mouth. To literally top it all off the biscuits were given texture by the French coarse salt sprinkled on top. This simple touch of salt proved how powerful this ancient ingredient is. It not only provided a texture but made all the other flavors pop on the palate and forced the senses to go into overdrive. It was a memorable day because of this biscuits....so to Sara, THANK YOU!.
Is there a recipe available for these amazing feats of biscuit-ry?
