I was thinking about taking a break from drinking since my trip to South America, but then I thought that was really silly. Food and wine (sake or beer) are meant to be enjoyed together and if I'm going to take the time to cook a nice meal, it deserves at least a glass of something...right? I have never written about sake before but I really enjoy this unique beverage and I highly recommend to seek out quality sake. Premium sake can be enjoyed just like wine and served with a variety of foods outside of Japanese influenced dishes.
Name: Nanbu Bijin "Southern Beauty"
Grade (see this link for info on grades of sake): Junmai Ginjo
Prefecture (this is like a state or place of origin): Iwate
Rice: Ginginga
Importer: Vine Connections, Sausalito, CA
Fun Fact: It comes in little bottles 300 ml) so you can experiment. Premium sake is to be enjoyed slightly chilled and to get the best nose, I suggest a white wine glass.
Tasting Notes:First, I am pretty new to sake. Though I have studied sake for the various sommelier tests I have taken I have really never been that into sake. I have finally gotten on the bandwagon. After tasting a few in Argentina (post to follow), I decided to look through my samples and find some sakes to try. This selection is beautiful. The first aromas were of perfectly ripe Asian pears, hints of Honeydew melon, a touch of lemon, and wet chalk. The palate is lush and rich. This was quite a full-bodied sake and paried perfectly with our mustard chicken, beet greens and farro. Shauna and I both enjoyed the richness of the sake and its subtly. Sake is such a unique beverage I am going to have to try more to develop my sake lingo so I can help describe them in more detail. Trust me, this stuff is good!
Some time before, I did need to buy a car for my business but I didn't earn enough cash and could not purchase anything. Thank heaven my mother adviced to try to take the credit loans at trustworthy bank. Therefore, I acted so and used to be satisfied with my sba loan.
