After 8 months of marital bliss, Shauna and I are off on our honeymoon. After a seemingly never-ending month of working weekends and late into the evening, we packed our bags, turned off our phones, and hit the skies. Last night we completed our first leg, San Francisco to Dallas. After a lovely flight on the new and improved MD-80 of American Airlines, we were greeted by my Dad and stepmother, Karen. They took us to our hotel and watched us eat dinner. My family gets face time whenever they can and it is always a pleasure to see them and set foot in BIG-D!
We spent the night at the airport Hyatt, which was quite nice. Only one minor mishap - Shauna's suitcase's (a loaner from our friend) pull arm would not go down. We tried to perform surgery to no avail. Luckily, my mom was meeting us for breakfast and she brought us a backup—crisis averted.
After a buffet breakfast with my Mom and stepfather, Richard, we re-packed the bags and headed to our gate to begin leg two: Dallas to Miami.
We have landed in Miami and are now enjoying the comforts of the Admiral's club: free Wi-Fi and 4 drink coupons - AWESOME! Man, is it going to be hard to go back to Coach.
Our next leg begins later this evening as we head to Paris. We are there a few more hours before we fly to Milan, wait a few more hours, and off to Bari. Once in Bari we grab our car and drive to our first hotel in Trani.
So there you have it! It's going to be a VERY long day but the rewards will be more than worth it - fresh pasta, amazing seafood and barrels full of wine!
Jealous yet? You just might be...until then...
