If you haven't been following the haps over at Wet Laundry, you've probably wondered where I've fallen off to. Many thanks to Jeff for keeping the flame going strong. (Please, no protests! We want a free Tibet, too!) I'm not going to bore you with excuses, but rather intrigue you with hints of upcoming posts and happenings.
First off, let me acknowledge that talking about our eats and drinks over here isn't nearly as interesting without accompanying pictures. Maybe it's because you feel so far away, dear reader, or maybe it's just because of the general decline of the written word in our culture (and of this blogger), that I feel compelled to share images of culinary and oenological experiences in the Iberian peninsula. So brace yourself for a food (and wine) porn feature. It's been done, I know, but not by us! (Unless you count that close-up of the oyster at Absinthe.)
Second order of business is a birthday announcement. Drink Eat Love is one year old today! In honor of this momentous occasion, we are kicking off a redesign of this blog. Green on green is so last year, so stay tuned for what promises to be a fun upgrade. Meanwhile, feel free to write and say what you like most/least about what we're doing here, design-wise (and content-wise, too), and we may or may not take it into account. ; )
Lastly, but probably the first to happen, I will be posting my long-awaited notes on our trip to Sanlucar de Barrameda, near and dear to my heart for being home to Manzanilla sherry. I visited some small bodegas, some bottles of which you'll find at home, some of which you won't, and got the inside scoop on what makes this delicious drink so delicious, as well as why you've probably never had the best of it.
That's all folks. Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday DEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
